Finally, another contribution to the 100 Picture Challenge. The theme is Seeing Red ... I thought it was the perfect excuse for some fan-art of Nanaki, aka ... Red XIII (13)! So here we are, "seeing Red!" And some blue in the background. The little grayish flecks actually are silver, but that doesn't translate well when scanned into a computer. >< They look cool IRL, though.

Anyway, roughly four hours of work over the last three days. Prismacolor pencils, with some white india ink for the highlights and stars, and a silver sharpie for the silver bits that look awful when scanned in. In fact... the blue in the background is a bit too greenish/light ... and it's the scanner's fault. IRL it's darker. However, I am pleased that my focus, Red, actually came through with very little of his color being messed up!

Also, this is kinda like my "translation" of Red: a cat-like wolfish thingie. A blend of canine and feline. his face is actually a little too broad, and his neck's a little short... but I am very proud with how this came out otherwise. Aaaaaanyway.
